Internal Organization

Due to its multidisciplinary nature, the firm is structured in different departments which reflect the necessary objective of each specialist area. Each department has its own senior partner.

Our size enables clients to enjoy personal contact with the lawyers handling their affairs with the guarantee of supervision from the senior partner.

Yet this does not mean that every department operates alone: it is the necessary communication, support and mutual interaction between the different areas which guarantees our professionality. Last but not least, in matters of special importance or technical complexity, there is always a final review to provide uniform standards and consistency in approach and solutions.

Our offices in Lisbon and Madrid have coordinators responsible for administrative management and customer contact to facilitate and speed up the relationship with our lawyers.

José Carlos Peñas Lozar is a partner in the Belzuz firm and manager of the Madrid office together with director Enrique Fernández Belzuz, dealing with financial management and sharing business development roles.

He was instrumental in the opening and initial development of offices in Lisbon in 1998 and later in Porto.

Prior to joining the firm he served as Director of Customer Service in the multinational financial sector and was regional counsel to an insurance company market leader.
