The insurance law department of Belzuz Abogados started its activity within the Corporate Law Department, advising clients in those matters related to insurance law.

The growing demand for services related to the insurance world and the specialization required by this sector gave rise to the creation of the department in 1998, which explored and treated different study issues related to insurance law.

In Belzuz Abogados we also negotiate and represent on behalf of our clients, avoiding as much as possible going to Court, trying to obtain the best possible outcome for our client´s interest.

Belzuz enjoys extensive experience in advising insurance law, both Spanish and foreign insurers by counting with a multidisciplinary team of commercial lawyers and tax attorneys who assess insurance products and their compliance with the law.

Our clients are national and international insurance companies on the primer league, who trust their claims to our team. At this moment we are working on all kinds of claims in different areas of civil liability. With the support of the Litigation Department, Belzuz Abogados participates in different judicial and arbitration proceedings.

Our implementation in Spain and Portugal with our own office at Lisbon and Oporto allows us to offer a global service in the Iberian Peninsula and in the insurance area, offering a plus in the dealing of claims for insurance companies.

We have taken part directly in the localization of several insurance companies at the Iberian market helping them grow and adapt their insurance policies according to the local needs.

  • Applicable regulation, legal form, policy analysis (drafting of general, particular and special conditions, delimitation and limitation of risk, etc); having advised Spanish and foreign insurance companies that are acting under the Freedom to Provide Services Regime, in accordance with the applicable regulation.
